2001 - PVL Finally Fit Challenge

Balancing the Body

One of the important aspects of 'Balancing the Body' is focusing on the figure. I started my figure focus years back when I worked as an aerobic instructor. My passion for fitness worked into years of weight training. After having several surgeries though, I left my fitness world and hit my 'slump'.  This left me and my body miserable. I decided last year I would challenge myself to get out of the slump pit and create a new body.  I signed up for the PVL Finally Fit Challenge and spent 12 weeks re-establishing my love for fitness. It turned out to be 12 weeks of discovery inward as I changed the body outward.  A definite challenge of the mental, emotional and physical state.

April 2002

I was awarded a prize package as 2001 co-Champion for Canada.  If any of you reading this page are in your 'slump'... Challenge yourself to climb out - the rewards are incredible!

Take the Finally Fit Challenge (www.finallyfitchallenge.com) and start a new journey of discovery.

2003 - The Western Naturals
Bodybuildling Competition

My love for challenge brought me to my next fitness journey... Body Building.

I trained for 8 months to compete in The Western Naturals Body Building competition in Nanaimo May 24th, 2003. It was probably one of the hardest things I have done. The training was INTENSE and the diet was very TOUGH to follow through with. My trainer, Sheila Kamaraus was just as tough :) but hey, I wouldn't have wanted any one else training me...she did an awesome job!!! I placed 3rd in the Masters Division - what an accomplishment and honor to have been in the top 3. It was a very rewarding experience and I will treasure it - the positive and the negative.

A special "thank you" to:

NorthShore Fitness, Penticton, BC - for sponsoring me in my training; My personal trainer, Sheila Kamaraus; Darryl Taylor, RMG Entertainment, for the song "Fire" I used in my routine;
Cathy from PURSUIT for sponsoring me and creating my fitness attire; My family, friends & clients for their patience and support; and to Trance, Dan and Jon who were the closest to me during these difficult 8 months, "You were my inspiration" - Thanks guys...love you!!!
